Akuapim South Inaugurates District Court

Placeholder image The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Frank Aidoo gave a warm welcome address to all dignitaries as well as Assembly members present. He later showed his profound gratitude to the President of the Republic of Ghana for selecting the Akuapim South Municipality as one of the beneficiary districts for this court project. He thanked Otoobour Djan Kwesi II for releasing a land for the project and Hon. O.B Amoah the Member of Parliament for his support in the completion of the building.

In a speech delivered by Hon. O.B Amoah, MP of Akuapim South Constituency, he extended greetings from the Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development to all and sundry. He stated that this court project was commenced in order to ensure ready access to court in the district for the promotion of justice as well as maintain rule of law.

The owner of the land Otoobour Djan Kwasi II was really pleased with the work done and showed his appreciation to the Chief Justice and his entourage for the very great initiative of constructing a district court in his community. He also said this court house will not only serve as a ruling house but also create employment opportunities for some members of the community.

His Lordship Justice Anim Yeboah, the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana made it known that he is really glad a project like this has taken place in the municipality. He made it clear that the court would limit the number of cases that would have been sent all the way to the Mampong court as well as the Akropong court for resolutions. He also thanked the chief for releasing a land for the court to be established.
