The renovated Aburi Market was finally commissioned on the Thursday, 25th May, 2023 to pave way for its long-awaited use. Present at this event were Hon. Frank Aidoo (MCE), Ms. Lydia Akueteh (MCD), Nana Odei Tea (xxx), Religious leaders, Nana Hemaa, the security services and most importantly the market women.
Hon. Frank Aidoo thanked the market women for their patience as the civil works were ongoing and admonished them to take good care of the facility. He on behalf of the Assembly, donated Three Thousand Ghana Cedis to Madam Vivian Osae a market woman who has been facing regular theft at her stall. Madam Osae gave thanks to the Assembly and most importantly the Almighty God for the kind gesture.
The market queen thanked the Assembly for acting on their word and delivering the project (sheds) in six months as promised. She said hygiene will be improved as compared to before and also showed appreciation to the assemblyman.
Nana Hemma advised the market women to resort to dialogue in settling disputes amongst them amicably and also commit to paying the approved tolls as that will also be going into other developmental projects in the municipality.
The MCE finally handed over the market and instructed the market women to own it and take good care of the place.
