The success of the Community Wellness Clinic is evident in the increased healthcare utilization and improved health outcomes. Between May and July, over 1,100 residents accessed services through these clinics, leading to a notable rise in outpatient visits. The activity also facilitated the renewal of NHIS memberships, with over 60% of inactive members renewing their health insurance on the spot, ensuring they could receive necessary health care at any point in time.
Despite these achievements, the initiative faces challenges, particularly in areas like Berekusu, Pakro, and Pokrom, where high rates of inactive or non-existent NHIS memberships persist. Additionally, limited funding for community mobilization and logistical support hampers the program's reach and sustainability.
To address these challenges, the initiative is seeking support from the Municipal Assembly to collaborate with NHIS for easier registration and renewal processes. Additionally, partnerships with local information centers are being pursued to enhance community mobilization efforts. The Community Clinics is set to continue as a monthly activity across all facilities, with regular supervision and reporting to ensure its effectiveness.
