The Akuapim South Municipal Assembly has observed, with great concern, the increasing number of developments-both completed and ongoing-within its jurisdiction that have been undertaken without the necessary Development and Building Permits, in contravention of the Land Use and Spatial Planning Act, 2016 (Act 925) and related regulations.
In line with its statutory mandate to ensure orderly development and public safety, the Assembly will be undertaking a comprehensive Building Control and Enforcement Exercise, which will include:
Inspection of all properties and construction sites within the municipality
Prosecution of offenders under applicable laws
Demolition of unauthorized structures, where necessary
As a proactive and remedial measure, the Assembly is offering a one-time Amnesty Period to allow owners and developers to regularize their developments, where possible.
Amnesty Period: 1st - 28th February, 2026
All persons who have undertaken developments without valid permits are hereby advised to visit the Physical Planning Department of the Assembly during this period to initiate the necessary permit regularization processes.
Additionally, individuals who have made payments either directly to the Assembly or through any intermediary-for building/development permits but have not yet received them are urged to contact the Assembly immediately via WhatsApp on 0240790316 with evidence of payment and supporting documents.
Please note that after 28th February 2026, the Assembly will commence strict enforcement, and no further opportunities for amnesty will be granted.
