Akuapim South fumigates lorry parks, markets and open spaces

Placeholder image As the world is facing a global pandemic against COVID-19 which started from China in December, 2019, it became necessary for Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development followed by the President Directives to ensure all public places are disinfected and cleaned. This important exercise is to control the rapid spread of the virus.

The disinfection exercise which is a nation-wide reached the turn of Eastern Region where Akwapim South Municipal Assembly is included. teh exercise was undertaken on the 4th of April, 2020.

The Assembly in collaboration with the Zoomlion Ghana limited undertook the disinfection exercise withthirty-eight (38) sparaying gangs spread across the district.

The areas where spraying were carried out in the Municipality include markets, lorry stations, shops, stores, streets and drains, CHPs Compounds, Aburi and Ahwerase craft village, and some community centers.

Although, there was a heavy down pour, the exercise came to an end successful.
