As stated in Article 45 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, the Electoral Commission (EC) is mandated to conduct and supervise all elections and referenda. Therefore, the Municipal Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Benjamin Amankwah, led the electoral proceedings, hence gave clarity on the processes involved in the election. Thirty-seven (37) Assembly Members plus one proxy voted, bringing the number of vote cast to a total of thirty-eight (38). At the end of the voting, Hon. In an acceptance speech, Hon. Frank Aidoo expressed his gratitude to God, thanked the President, Nana Akufo Addo, for letting him stay on for another term in the capacity of MCE. He also thanked the Assembly Members for such a glorious victory, and to the Municipal Electoral Commissioner and his officials for a successful election. And thanked all for the massive support. He promised to do his outmost best in executing his mandate and rally support from all especially the Assembly Members and the staff of the Assembly to make the President’s vision a reality.

Nana Otoobour Djan Kwasi II gave a brief, thanking all for such an outcome in a calm environment. He stimulated the elect, Hon. Frank Aidoo, stating that there is more to do since municipality is still deficient of some major developmental projects, as the adage goes “there is more room for improvement” and like Oliver Twist the municipality ‘ask for more’.

The Presiding Member gave his closing remarks and a prayer was said by Rev. Maurice Bakossa to bring the program to a close.
