The first quarter general assembly meeting of the 1ST session of the 3rd assembly was held on Wednesday 30th March, 2022 at the Assembly hall, Aburi. The meeting was graced by Her Worship Felicia Annane Antwi, the magistrate of Akuapim North Municipal Assembly, Hon. Frank Aidoo, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akuapem South District Assembly, Madam Lydia Akueteh, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), the former DCE, the various heads of departments and agencies and staff, Assembly Members, representatives of the various political parties, the media and town folks.
The agenda for the meeting was to elect a presiding member and the MCE to deliver his sectional address. The municipal electoral commission conducted the presiding member’s elections. Three members contested for the presiding member’s position. A total number of thirty-nine (39) Assembly members voted excluded the Member of Parliament (MP) who was absent. The results were;

This was followed by the swearing-in of the elected Presiding member by the Magistrate. The elect in his acceptance speech thanked the Assembly for a huge number of votes cast and also he was pleased to see the unity displayed between the honorable members and even the political parties and encourage them to hold on to this healthy relationship that exist in the Akuapim South. He also advised all to play their respective roles diligently, desisting from anything that will undermine the unity which has been exhibited.
In addressing the house, Hon. Frank expressed his gratitude to God and the Assembly member for a successful. Hon. Frank spoke on these areas; security situation in the municipality, Developmental projects/ roads, education, health and farming.
In conclusion, reports on the executive committee were read, questions, answers and clarifications were also given where necessary. The Presiding Member gave his closing remarks and the meeting came to an end.
