As part of the Assembly’s commitment to accountability, transparency and effective service delivery to the municipality, the Assembly held a Mid-Year Joint Stakeholders Review Workshop on the Implementation of the 2026 Annual Action Plan and Composite Budget, as well as a Planning Session for the 2027 Composite Annual Action Plan on 12th August 2026.
The programme brought together key stakeholders, including the Municipal Chief Executive, Municipal Coordinating Director, security agencies, heads of departments, civil society organisations, Assembly Members, the clergy, traditional leaders, Assembly staff and community members.
In his opening remarks, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paul Osae Offei, stated that the Assembly had a responsibility to account to the people of the municipality for the funds allocated to it and how those resources had been utilised in accordance with its mandate.
During the workshop, representatives from various sectors presented updates on their activities, targets and achievements. Discussions covered areas including budget and fiscal planning, immigration, social welfare, education, physical planning and project implementation, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), and the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
Participants also highlighted progress made in their respective sectors, while concerns and grievances raised by stakeholders were addressed. Recommendations were also made to improve service delivery and the implementation of development projects within the municipality.
In his closing remarks, the MCE expressed his appreciation to all participants for their contributions and active participation.
He disclosed that the Assembly had been offered 4.8 acres of land at Pokrom to facilitate the establishment of a government ultra-modern 24-hour economy market, together with supporting facilities such as a hospital and educational infrastructure.
He noted that the location, close to the main road, would enhance accessibility and provide opportunities for revenue generation within the municipality.
The MCE further assured the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service and the Ghana National Fire Service of the Assembly’s support through the provision of two motorbikes each to facilitate transportation, information dissemination and safety education activities.
Meanwhile, Awo Adwoa Amene announced that the municipality was observing a ban on excessive noise and called on residents and stakeholders to adhere to the traditional measures governing the ban. She cautioned that failure to comply could result in the seizure of sound equipment.
The workshop urged stakeholders to work together towards improved accountability, effective resource utilisation and sustainable development in the municipality.
